Two inmates of the Kalmyk colony were convicted in a case concerning a terrorist community.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced two inmates of a Kalmyk colony, finding them guilty of participating in a terrorist community operating within the correctional facility.

The court sentenced Alik Nadiraliyev and Rustam Zeyfulaev, finding them guilty of participating in a terrorist community (part 2 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the case materials, in 2013, several inmates established a terrorist community in a correctional facility in Kalmykia, to which Nadiraliyev and Zeyfulaev joined. From March 2016 to May 2017, Nadiraliyev and from September to December 2018, Zeyfulaev conducted religious lectures in the prayer room and living sections of the inmates. Nadiraliyev was also the deputy leader of the community and was responsible for one of the barracks where its members lived, writes "Kommersant" on August 21.

Nadiraliyev was sentenced to 7.5 years in a special regime colony, taking into account the cumulative sentences from the Nevsky and Krasnogvardeisky District Courts of St. Petersburg, while Zeyfulaev was sentenced to 5.5 years in a strict regime colony.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of July, a native of Derbent, Ramazan Kurbanov, was sentenced to a long prison term in a case concerning a terrorist cell in the Kalmyk colony.

At the end of 2025, the leaders of the Kalmyk colony received long sentences in a case concerning a terrorist cell. Pavel Bataev and his deputy Arthur Tsamaev, accused of organizing a terrorist community within the correctional facility, received 22 and 24 years of imprisonment, respectively.
