The resident of Kaspiysk is suspected of justifying terrorism.
The investigative department for the city of Kaspiysk has initiated a criminal case against a 28-year-old local resident due to an audio recording posted online, which, according to the investigation, contained signs of justifying terrorism.
According to the investigation, the suspect posted an audio recording on his social media page that contained statements aimed at publicly justifying terrorism and promoting terrorist activities.
Due to the fact that the audio recording posted on the internet was publicly accessible, the information contained in it acquired a public character, the Investigative Committee of Dagestan reported today on its Telegram channel.
"Currently, necessary investigative actions are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the incident, secure the evidence base, and provide a full legal assessment of the suspect's actions," the agency's message states.
The case against the resident of Kaspiysk has been initiated under part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a prison sentence of five to seven years. The initiation of the criminal case was prompted by materials received from the FSB of Dagestan.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a resident of Dagestan is suspected of justifying terrorism due to an audio recording posted online. Earlier, the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan approved an indictment in a criminal case against a resident of Moscow accused of publicly justifying terrorism.
