The name of the killed serviceman from Dagestan in Ukraine has been revealed.
Ahmed Magomedov from the Unzukul district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially recognized at least 2080 servicemen from Dagestan as killed there.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by August 20, officials and security forces had officially named the names of at least 2079 killed fighters from Dagestan in Ukraine.
The name of another killed serviceman from Dagestan in Ukraine was announced by the administration of the Unzukul district, reporting on the transfer of a posthumous award to his relatives.
The killed is Ahmed Magomedov, who was posthumously awarded the Suvorov Order, the official Telegram channel of the municipality reported.
The age of the killed serviceman and details of his biography are not provided in the officials' publication.
Thus, at least 2080 combatants from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among representatives of the authorities to announce that a Russian serviceman had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
