The condition of the beaches in central Anapa disappointed Telegram users.
After a series of storms, cliffs formed on the central beach of Anapa — the waves washed away part of the sand mixed with clay, while the wind brought algae to the shore, noted bloggers and commentators.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the beaches of Anapa, after being replenished with new sand, turned into a mixture of stones and clay, and officials' reports do not correspond to reality, users of Telegram pointed out. According to commentators, significant costs were incurred to replenish the beaches of Anapa after the oil spill, but the first storms washed away the sand, and the remaining sand on the shore became compacted. Another problem for Anapa's beaches after the storm was the large amount of algae. A permit to operate has already been obtained from Rospotrebnadzor for 109 beaches of Anapa, while three more are undergoing examination. The entrance to the sea on Anapa's beaches is covered with algae, and strong winds raise clay dust from the sand brought to the coast after the oil spill, bloggers write.
The central beach of Anapa now presents an unusual picture, the sea has washed away the imported sand. The shore has noticeably changed, the beach line has become jagged, reported blogger Andrey Makovzvy.
“The central beach at the exit from the 30 Years of Victory Park is in its usual state. This is the face of the resort city, it is 300 meters to the administration, and it looks like this now. A slope of one and a half meters, which you have to climb by stairs, islands of rotting black lumps, and a strong smell of hydrogen sulfide that pierces any stuffy nose,” he wrote in his Telegram channel “Makovzvy”.
Beach “Caucasus”. “The sea here is a complete mess, fresh lumps after the southern wind lie in layers by the water, there are not many people,” the blogger wrote today.
“Clay-stone islands, the smell is so strong that I got a headache while filming,” the blogger added in another post.

“Is the administration deliberately discrediting the resort? But people are still coming,” commented Grigory.
“While they are coming, next year there will be no desire to rest here, they have ruined everything that could be,” commented Yulia.
The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the state of the coast. Some beaches are open and deemed safe, while other areas are closed due to erosion, unstable ground, and environmental risks. A report titled "Beaches of Anapa: open and dangerous zones" details which beaches are ready for visitors and which pose a danger.
Despite the problems with sand and algae on the beaches, Anapa in July showed the most significant increase in tourists in the Krasnodar region. Hotels are keeping prices in Anapa at last year's level and even holding sales, emphasized a hotelier.
