The name of the soldier killed in Ukraine from Karachay-Cherkessia has been announced.
Azamat Salpagarov from Ust-Dzhegut is killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially recognized at least 203 combatants from Karachay-Cherkessia as killed there.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by August 16, officials and security forces officially recognized at least 4773 fighters from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District as killed in Ukraine, including 202 from Karachay-Cherkessia.
The name of another soldier killed from Karachay-Cherkessia was made public by the administration of the Ust-Dzhegutinsky district. Azamat Salpagarov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
Salpagarov graduated from Lyceum No. 1 in Ust-Dzhegut, after which he studied for three years at the Faculty of Law at the North Caucasian State Humanitarian and Technological College. In November 2017, he was drafted into the army, where he subsequently continued to serve under contract.
“In the spring of 2022, Azamat voluntarily went to participate in the special military operation. He served with the rank of sergeant, performing the tasks of a reconnaissance rangefinder in the howitzer self-propelled artillery battery,” the publication of the official Telegram channel of the municipality states.
Azamat Salpagarov was killed on May 11, 2022, at the age of 23.
Thus, at least 203 fighters from Karachay-Cherkessia have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
In May, the administration of the Ust-Dzhegutinsky district reported that a former special forces soldier, mobilized Valery Nechitailov, was killed in battles in Ukraine.
