Three servicemen from Kabardino-Balkaria were killed in Ukraine
Ruslan Abanokov and two of his fellow countrymen from the Tersky district were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 469 combatants from Kabardino-Balkaria as killed there.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by August 16, officials and security forces officially recognized at least 4773 fighters from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District as killed in Ukraine, including 466 from Kabardino-Balkaria.
The names of three more servicemen killed in Ukraine were disclosed by the administration of the Tersky district, reporting on the transfer of posthumous awards to their relatives.
The deceased are Ruslan Abanokov from the village of Internatsionalnoye, Zalil Zhantigolov from Terek, and Viktor Chipizhny from the rural settlement of Tambovskoye. All three were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, the official Telegram channel of the municipality reported.
The age, ranks, and biographical details of the servicemen were not provided in the officials' message.
Thus, at least 469 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 456 of them, and the deaths of another 13 became known from the report of the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.
"Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia.
