Madina Makhamashova asked Aishat Kadyrova for help
According to the human rights project "Caucasus Without a Mother", the resident of Chechnya Madina Makhamashova appealed to Aishat Kadyrova with a complaint, that she has not been able to see her daughter for two years.
According to Makhamashova, after the divorce, the girl lived with her maternal grandmother, and later the child's father took her to his home, human rights activists reported on August 17 on their Telegram channel.
Makhamashova published a post on her Instagram* page, in which she appealed for help to Aishat Kadyrova.
According to her, after several years of marriage, she divorced her husband, and their daughter lived with her since birth. The father could see the girl, but he came rarely and practically did not participate in her life. After her second marriage, Makhamashova left her daughter with her mother. Later, according to Makhamashova, her ex-husband began to seek custody of the child. After the Muftiyat of Chechnya decided to transfer the girl to her father, Makhamashova lost the opportunity to communicate with her daughter.
Makhamashova stated that her ex-husband and his current wife turned the girl against her and do not allow her to talk to her daughter even by phone. "For almost two years, I have not had the opportunity to communicate with my daughter. <…> Dear Aishat Ramzanovna! <...> I appeal to you in hope of help, as I have repeatedly observed your fairness and attention to women who, in despair, turn to you," she wrote.
Makhamashova added that the court had previously established a communication order with her daughter, but the meetings did not take place. Makhamashova claims that on the appointed days, her ex-husband found reasons not to show her the child.
"I am the biological mother, I want to raise my daughter," Makhamashova wrote, once again asking for help in restoring communication with her daughter.
Commentators supported the resident of Chechnya
The post on Madina Makhamashova's Instagram* page, which has 402 followers, had received 4035 likes and 1046 comments by 11:45 AM Moscow time on August 18. Commentators expressed their support for her.
"I am a child who was not shown to my mother and was turned against her. I am now an adult woman. <…> Perhaps they did not want me to grow up in worse conditions, with uncles who led, to put it mildly, not the best lifestyle. But they had no right to not show me to my mother and tell me all my life that she threw me into the yard and left. I grew up and I communicate with both my mother and my sister. And everyone who writes that this man did the right thing, turn the hourglass <…>", wrote tendresaa.
"I am a child who was not shown to my mother and was turned against her. I am now an adult woman and believe me, everyone who has been through this has paid a huge price for it!" – wrote tendresaa. She shared that she later restored communication with her mother and sister, but close relationships between them did not develop.
"To those who write: 'Why did she get married? It's right that the father does not show her daughter' – do you even understand what you are talking about?" – asked dzh.seda.
"Since the sister of the wife says that they do not prohibit the girl from seeing her mother, let's all go together and take the mother to her daughter, let them at least talk outside and be together. I am personally ready to accompany this 'bad' mother to her child," said user dr.amaeva_detox.
"Caucasian Knot" currently does not have a comment from Madina Makhamashova's ex-husband regarding her complaint about the ban on seeing and communicating with her daughter.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in the republics of the North Caucasus, and particularly in Chechnya, the issue of women's rights remains relevant. For example, the story of the death of Madina Umaeva from Gudermes caused a wide public outcry. Umaeva died on June 12, 2020, in her husband's house and was buried at night. Madina's husband claimed that she died after falling down the stairs during an epileptic seizure. According to Umaeva's relatives, there were often quarrels between her and her husband. Umaeva's body was exhumed on June 20, 2020, three days later Ramzan Kadyrov intervened in the case. He stated that Umaeva's relatives had no evidence that her husband was guilty of her death. After that, Umaeva's mother apologized for her words about her daughter's violent death.
