The fuel distribution regime on even and odd days linked to the state registration numbers of vehicles has been reintroduced in the Astrakhan region.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 13, the limit on gasoline sales of 40 liters was reintroduced at gas stations, and some city gas stations returned to a limited mode of operation.
A severe fuel shortage was observed in Astrakhan in mid-July, but on July 21, the governor of the Astrakhan region announced an increase in the gasoline sales limit to 40 liters per person and the opening of all "Lukoil" gas stations in Astrakhan. On July 28, "Gazprom" completely lifted restrictions at its gas stations in the Astrakhan, Volgograd, and Rostov regions, as well as in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories. On the same day, the system of refueling vehicles on even and odd days was canceled in the Astrakhan region, and gas stations returned to round-the-clock operation. On August 1, drivers reported to "Caucasian Knot" that there were no longer any queues or limits at gas stations in Astrakhan.
The governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, wrote on the evening of August 17 on his Telegram channel that the situation with fuel supply in the region remains complicated "due to the complications in logistics and the production of petroleum products under the influence of external factors and the ongoing surge in demand".
The operational headquarters, "at the suggestion of "Lukoil" and "Gazprom", decided to resume the fuel distribution regime on even and odd days linked to the state registration numbers of vehicles. Gas stations selling AI-92 and AI-05 gasoline will continue to operate according to schedule. "This is necessary to concentrate the available fuel volumes at certain stations, rather than distributing them in small batches across the entire network," the governor noted.
In addition, according to him, traffic police and patrol police officers will be on duty at gas stations, as well as on the highways adjacent to the gas stations "to avoid conflict situations".
Let us remind you that the authorities of the Astrakhan region, against the backdrop of a gasoline shortage, had already introduced a fuel refueling system at gas stations on even and odd days depending on the last digit of the car's number. After the introduction of this measure, queues at gas stations did not decrease, and drivers wait in line in advance even at non-operating gas stations in hopes of buying fuel. Due to the fuel problem, residents of Astrakhan have started using their personal vehicles less frequently, walking more, and taking buses, users of social networks reported.
Let us remind you that due to the fuel crisis, drivers in the southern regions of Russia have started to convert their cars to gas en masse, leading to long queues at auto repair shops. Analysts have previously noted that the long wait forces motorists to turn to "gray" installers who do not guarantee the safety of the equipment.
