An official appeal to Vladimir Putin, the Supreme Court, and the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia was published by the wife of the former vice-governor of Krasnodar Krai, Alexander Nesterенко, who is accused of exceeding his official powers. She called the case fabricated and stated there were violations in her husband's case.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in mid-May, the Lenin District Court of Krasnodar denied the defense of former vice-governor of Kuban Alexander Nesterенко release from house arrest under a travel ban. On August 14, the prosecutor requested to sentence him to nine years in a penal colony.

The wife of the former deputy head of Krasnodar Krai, Alexander Nesterенко, appealed to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the Supreme Court, and the Prosecutor General of Russia, asking for protection of her husband's rights, writes "Morning South" on August 16.

Galina Nesterенко asked to intervene in the judicial process against her husband, stating serious violations in his case. She called the case fabricated and pointed out the oddities of the process. In particular, according to her, five prosecutors changed during the process, but none of them "even tried to understand the essence of the case", and the judge "never considered such days". The examination, according to her, was conducted based on fictitious documents, which Nesterенко did not sign. The court denied the defense's request for a repeated construction and technical examination.

Alexander Nesterенко was arrested in May 2025. The day before, he was dismissed due to "lack of results" in the construction sector. In June, the court placed him under house arrest. In early May 2026, his case was submitted for court consideration. Earlier, the official was accused of abuse of office, later the investigation requalified the accusation to three episodes of exceeding official powers during the major repairs of schools in the Kherson region. In court, he stated that he did not cause material damage.
