The former owner of the Marton hotel chain, Andrey Marchenko, denied the allegations of organizing prostitution; however, the court in Krasnodar refused to terminate his prosecution on this charge.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in October 2025, the Ostankino court in Moscow granted the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General's Office against former Supreme Court judge Viktor Momotov and Kuban businessmen Andrey and Ivan Marchenko, ruling to confiscate their assets for state revenue. The agency believes that Momotov, deprived of the status of a retired judge, was actually a co-owner of the hotel chain registered under Marchenko, despite the prohibition for judges to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Furthermore, the Prosecutor General's Office believes that Momotov's status was a cover for illegal activities of the Marton hotel chain related to prostitution. In June, the operation of Marton hotels in Krasnodar was suspended.
The Krasnodar Regional Court denied the former owner of the Marton hotel chain, Andrey Kravchenko, the termination of prosecution under the criminal article on organizing prostitution (part 1 of article 241 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), writes "Kommersant" on August 16.
The defense insisted on canceling the investigator's decision, citing that there was insufficient evidence of Marchenko's involvement in the alleged act, and that the notification of the initiation of the case was received untimely. However, the court indicated that the case had already been sent for consideration to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar, where all disputes between the parties should be resolved.
