The authorities of the municipalities in Kuban affected by the fuel oil spill have demanded compensation for cleaning the shore.
The administration of Anapa demands that the companies "Volgotransneft", "Kama Shipping", and "Kamatransoil" and insurers compensate 601 million for cleaning the shore from fuel oil and disposing of contaminated soil, while the authorities of the Temryuk district demand 28 million. The "Morspasluzhba" demands reimbursement of 485 million, which was spent on cleaning the waters of the Black Sea.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", hearings have begun on the lawsuit of Morspasluzhba against "Kama Shipping" - the owner of the sunken tanker "Volgoneft-212", with "Volgotransneft" being brought in as a co-defendant. Morspasluzhba is seeking reimbursement for expenses incurred during the cleanup of the oil product spill. Representatives of "Volgotransneft" and "Kama Shipping" have filed a petition to create limited liability funds totaling 1 billion rubles, from which it is proposed to pay damages that may be claimed for the oil spill near Anapa. On February 13, 2025, the same court imposed a fine of 630 thousand rubles in total for violating technical parameters on the owners of the sunken tankers. The amount of the fine is negligible and incomparable to the environmental damage caused by the fuel oil spill, users on Telegram pointed out.
Fuel oil was found on all beaches of Anapa, along the coast in the Temryuk district (from the village of Veselovka to the stanitsa of Blagoveshchenskaya) and on the coast of the Azov Sea in the Slavyansky district of Kuban, according to a report from "Caucasian Knot" "The scale of fuel oil pollution in southern Russia".

In May, in the case regarding the Morspasluzhba lawsuit, the court created a fund to limit the liability of insurers with a guarantee from JSC "Russian National Reinsurance Company" for 1.06 billion rubles. Other claimants were invited to reassert their claims within this process.

All bank accounts of these companies were frozen.
