The state of transport infrastructure in Nartkala has given rise to criticism of officials.

Traffic lights at one of the dangerous sections of Nartkala have not been working for about two months, a local resident complained on social media. Other residents, commenting on his complaint, pointed out the risk of traffic accidents and criticized the inaction of officials.

According to one of the residents of Nartkala, the traffic lights at the section of the road opposite the NTC and the "Lukoil" and "Rosneft" gas stations have not been working for about a month, or possibly longer. He noted that this section is one of the most dangerous in the city, yet no measures are being taken to repair the traffic lights.

The complaint was published on August 14 by the Instagram*-public chp.nalchik, which has about 520 followers. As of 09:55 MSK on August 16, the post had received 140 likes and 28 comments.

Residents pointed out that the traffic light has not been working for several months and poses a risk of traffic accidents. "The traffic light has not been working since June, please take action," wrote asya_gukezheva_. "This traffic light has not been working for a couple of months. How many emergency situations have occurred there? People rush at the non-working traffic light, while on the other side, the green light is on," noted irlanaa__. "It really hasn't been working for a long time, and there is constant tension due to the risk of traffic accidents," wrote villain_t_.

Commentators criticized the inaction of the authorities and demanded that those responsible for the traffic light be identified. "The district and city administration is aware of the situation with the traffic light; it has not been working for the second month now," noted mila_artur_07. "It's interesting, if the administration is not supposed to deal with this, then who is?" asked venera______a___. "The administration doesn't pass by there," sarcastically remarked turtle.994847.

Users also reported other problems with traffic lights in Nartkala and suggested ways to achieve their repair. "There is the same problem with the traffic light at Tarchokova, 20, in Nartkala near the MFC and the kindergarten 'Childhood'. <...> This problem has been going on for a year already," wrote vladislav_mamedov. "Write to the prosecutor's office right away, not here. They will address it very quickly," advised pandads3. "Call 112. They will respond immediately," wrote anastacia__inmountains.

As of 09:55 MSK on August 16, there are no comments on the Nartkala administration's website regarding the complaint about the non-working traffic lights.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Kabardino-Balkaria regularly complain about the state of transport and urban infrastructure. Thus, on July 19, residents of the republic, commenting on the report of the head of the republic, Kazbek Kokov, complained about the state of infrastructure, including the lack of asphalt on the streets. On August 19, 2024, Nalchiks pointed out to the authorities the problems with public transport, including long waits for buses.
