The defender of farmers and animals was detained in the Stavropol Territory

In the Stavropol Territory, law enforcement detained activist Davud Adakhov, who is engaged in the protection of farmers' and agricultural animals' rights.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in 2018, a court in Kislovodsk made decisions to arrest more than ten activists detained in the city administration. Among those arrested were the heads of regional branches of the union "PRAVsouz Kavkaz" Davud Adakhov and Maxim Shipilov, both of whom were sentenced to 15 days in custody.

The detention of Davud Adakhov occurred against the backdrop of reports of quarantine being imposed due to African swine fever and brucellosis in the region. Activists believe that law enforcement has intensified pressure on people who advocate for farmers, reported the Telegram channel "Ecological Council".

"What is happening and what are the true reasons for the detention of the animal rights defender? What kind of trend do we have in the country if farmers and animal defenders are becoming extremists and terrorists?" - writes the Telegram channel "Agrarian Council", confirming the fact of the activist's detention.

Adakhov, along with other activists, was addressing conflicts between farm owners and veterinary services. According to their claims, specialists falsified the results of examinations, diagnosed animals with non-existent diseases, and demanded that healthy livestock be sent for sanitary slaughter at undervalued prices.

The activist also criticized the reduction of pastures and the activities of agroholdings. In addition, he expressed his intention to create a political party based on the union, the channel clarifies.

In 2018, an investigation had already initiated a criminal case against Adakhov under the article on extremism due to his critical publications in his blog. The defense then stated that there were violations during the examination and searches.

Adakhov himself links the new persecution to his public activities and conflicts with officials and big business.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the head of the Stavropol animal protection organization Oksana Zhitenova accused the Kuban public inspector for animal welfare Denis Jalaganiya of slander, insults, and discrediting the army, asking the FSB to initiate a criminal case against him.
