According to security forces, the suspect joined a banned terrorist organization in the Russian Federation in June 2026 and planned to commit crimes on its behalf, reports "Interfax" citing the FSB for the region.

On the instructions of his handlers, he arrived in Stavropol and monitored transport and industrial facilities, as well as planned to set fire to railway tanks with fuel and lubricants.

A criminal case has been initiated on charges of preparing to commit a terrorist act. The detainee has been taken into custody.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a court in Stavropol sent a man, detained by FSB officers on charges of preparing a terrorist act in Pyatigorsk, to a pre-trial detention center.
