A resident of Stavropol has been suspected of financing extremism.

The investigation believes that the suspect transferred funds to an organization banned in Russia.

A criminal case has been initiated against a 57-year-old man in the Novoaleksandrovsk inter-district investigative department of the Stavropol Territory.

He is suspected of financing extremist activities , the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Stavropol Territory reported today on their Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, the man held radical views and transferred funds to an organization banned in Russia due to extremist activities.

"Currently, investigative and procedural actions are being carried out in the criminal case aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident," the agency's message states.

The Investigative Committee does not disclose the name of the suspect, nor does it specify which extremist organization the money was transferred to.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a resident of the village of Levokumsky will stand trial in Stavropol, charged under the article on financing extremist activities.
