Residents of Abkhazia complained about the fuel shortage at gas stations.

In Abkhazia, gasoline is only available in sufficient quantities at some gas stations. Due to the fuel shortage at other gas stations, drivers have to stand in line for hours, local residents said, commenting on the authorities' report on fuel supplies in social media.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 8, local motorists stated that the restriction on gasoline sales to 20 liters per vehicle has worsened the situation with queues at gas stations, as drivers had to come for fuel more often. They suggested increasing the limit to at least 40 liters.

More than a thousand tons of gasoline will arrive in Abkhazia from Russia soon, reported the Prime Minister of the Republic Vladimir Delba at a meeting in the administration of the President of Abkhazia. According to him, negotiations with Russian suppliers and authorities were held daily. Delba's words were quoted by "Interfax" on August 10.

Delba's report on fuel supplies was also published by the Instagram*-public dtp_abh, which has about 22.4 thousand followers, and by 16:00 Moscow time on August 11, it had received 353 likes and 120 comments.

Users reacted skeptically to the authorities' promise to stabilize the situation. "Blah-blah-blah," wrote photo.mmilena.

Other commentators complained about the lack of gasoline and long waits at gas stations. "Are you kidding? Why is gasoline only at 'Rosneft'? Distribute gasoline to all gas stations to avoid such queues. People are standing for three to four hours at 3:00 AM," wrote user svadba__apsny2024.

"They say there is a lot of gasoline in Abkhazia, but where is it?" asked kristinaavetisyan_777____.

"Please distribute gasoline to all gas stations," urged user anas_duden.

Some commentators linked the queues to restrictions on fuel distribution. "If there is fuel, remove the restrictions!" demanded 4elovek_77_.

"If the batches of gasoline allow it, then why is our distribution limited? Don't you understand that the fuel distribution limit creates such a collapse?" asked nataly_agrba.

"There is gasoline. Give it to all gas stations, not just 'Podorozhnik' and 'Rosneft'," urged rolandketsba.

As of 16:00 Moscow time on August 11, there were no comments on the websites of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of Abkhazia regarding the residents' complaints about the fuel shortage at gas stations.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of July, long queues appeared at gas stations in Abkhazia, and drivers were allowed no more than 20 liters of fuel. The authorities called the disruptions temporary and urged residents not to stockpile gasoline. By July 31, the situation had improved somewhat, but motorists still reported queues and restrictions on fuel sales of 20-30 liters per vehicle.

After another report from the authorities about gasoline supplies, drivers reported a new deterioration of the situation. According to them, cars were lined up at gas stations in several rows and occupied the oncoming lane, and the wait lasted several hours. Later, residents doubted the effectiveness of the reported supplies, as queues at gas stations and the limit of 20 liters of fuel remained.
