The state of emergency has been declared in Shakhty due to the consequences of the hurricane two weeks ago.

Due to the aftermath of the hurricane that occurred on July 25, a state of emergency has been declared at nine addresses in the city of Shakhty.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on the night of July 26, there was a hurricane in the Rostov region, causing power supply issues in cities and districts of the region, and in some areas, there were also water supply problems. By the evening of July 27, after the hurricane, thousands of residents of Novocherkassk were left without electricity. In Rostov-on-Don, a state of emergency was declared on July 26, and more than 50 residents of the region sought medical assistance after the hurricane, one person died. Another two people died while eliminating the consequences of the hurricane due to violations of safety rules when working with electrical equipment.

Since August 10, a state of emergency has been declared in several areas of the city of Shakhty related to the aftermath of the hurricane on July 25, writes 1rnd.ru.

The decision to declare a state of emergency was made following an unscheduled meeting of the commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies. According to the head of the city, Lyudmila Ovchieva, adverse weather conditions "led to partial destruction of multi-apartment residential buildings and municipal buildings". The state of emergency affects facilities located at nine addresses.

Ovchieva also added that estimates are currently being prepared to assess the cost of restoration work and to prepare documents for obtaining funding.
