77 settlements in Dagestan are without electricity due to bad weather.

The number of settlements in Dagestan that fell into the zone of emergency power outages due to bad weather has increased to 77, and eleven teams of energy workers have been involved in emergency recovery work.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in apartment buildings in Makhachkala, the electricity has been turned off for several hours daily for a month, and people have been forced to go to a protest, but the situation with regular power outages in the city is not being resolved.

As of 10:50 AM (MSK), 77 settlements in eleven municipal districts have been affected by the outage. Eleven teams from the district power grids, consisting of 33 people and eleven units of equipment, have been involved in emergency recovery work, reported RIA "Novosti" citing the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Dagestan.

Earlier on Monday, the agency reported that after the rains, emergency power outages occurred in 51 settlements in seven districts of Dagestan.

"The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan received information from dispatchers of the "Unzukul District", "Akushin District", "Tabasaransky District", "Kulin District", and "Gunib District" that emergency power outages occurred in 51 settlements in seven districts due to a complex of adverse meteorological phenomena," the message from the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region states.

At a meeting at the "Dagenegro" branch, the operational situation in the power grid complex, the elimination of the consequences of bad weather, the stabilization of electricity supply in Makhachkala, and the implementation of repair programs were discussed, informs the publication "Dagestan Truth" citing the power grid company.

"Overall, the situation is assessed as satisfactory; during the reporting period, 11 emergency outages were recorded at 110 kV facilities. In the mountainous area, access to certain sections of the Gergebil networks is temporarily difficult due to heavy rains and mudflows, and specialists continue inspections and recovery work," the company stated.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on August 7, about 8,000 residents of Makhachkala were left without electricity due to the automatic protection triggering on the power transmission lines.
