Russian wheat and coal were sent to Armenia through Azerbaijan.

15 wagons of wheat and 10 wagons of coal passed from Russia through the territory of Azerbaijan to Armenia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 3, 976 tons of wheat from Russia were sent to Armenia via transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.

A freight train consisting of 25 wagons with Russian wheat and coal departed from the Baladzhary station of the "Azerbaijan Railways", heading to Armenia via transit through the territory of Azerbaijan, Report reported.

The cargo includes 15 wagons of wheat with a total weight of 1,049 tons and 10 wagons of coal with a total weight of 700 tons. The train will then proceed through the Bёyuk-Kyasik railway station to Georgia, from where it will head to Armenia.

Over 37,000 tons of wheat, about 9,000 tons of fertilizers, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 414 tons of anthracite, and 67,000 tons of timber have been delivered from Russia to Armenia via transit through Azerbaijan. Additionally, about 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and about 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia, according to the publication.

It is worth noting that in October 2025, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the lifting of all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia. In early November 2025, a shipment of Russian grain arrived in Armenia through Azerbaijan for the first time since the 1990s. The authorities of Armenia stated that this fulfilled one of the agreements reached in the USA, contributing to strengthening peace between Yerevan and Baku.

On February 4, Aliyev and Pashinyan discussed the initiated economic cooperation at a meeting in the UAE and agreed to seek opportunities to expand trade. Although trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia is mutually beneficial, Baku analysts believe it will have a limited nature in the near future .
