Abkhaz drivers called on the authorities to ease the limits at gas stations.

The restriction on gasoline sales to 20 liters per car exacerbates the situation with queues at gas stations, as drivers have to come for fuel more often, local motorists stated on Telegram. They suggested increasing the limit to at least 40 liters.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the authorities of Abkhazia previously reported the delivery of about 1600 tons of AI-92 gasoline. However, social media users continued to complain about long queues at gas stations.

One of the Abkhaz drivers complained that the restriction on gasoline sales to 20 liters per car only increases queues at gas stations, as motorists have to come for fuel more often. He pointed out that without the limit, the available gasoline would run out faster. This driver's complaint was published on August 8 by the Telegram channel "News | Emergency in Abkhazia".

Some commentators considered the limit of 20 liters insufficient and suggested increasing the allowed amount of fuel dispensed to one driver.

"Let it be 20 liters, but they should supply fuel to all gas stations, and there would be no problems. Or at least 40," urged Astamur.

Some users pointed out that reducing the amount of fuel dispensed to one car does not increase the overall throughput of gas stations but forces drivers to come to gas stations more often.

"Is the total amount of gasoline delivered per hour at the gas station less now than before?" asked Joker.

"The same amount of gasoline always flows through the hose if it flows continuously. This only increases the gasoline consumption spent on driving to gas stations and waiting in queues," wrote VSparrow.

Users also noted that gasoline is needed not only for cars but also for other equipment that cannot be refueled directly at gas stations.

"You can't pour it into canisters. Some have lawn mowers, tillers, workshops where gasoline is needed for washing parts, scooters, ATVs, water transport. Has anyone thought about how to refuel them?" asked user AL.

"People need to refuel a lot of things," agreed user GBZ.

Another commentator ironically suggested that residents give up cars. "Let's switch to horses – it's about time! On a cart and forward!" wrote Ramher47.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of July, long queues formed at gas stations in Abkhazia, and the volume of fuel sales was limited to 20 liters per car. The authorities called the disruptions temporary and urged residents not to stockpile gasoline. By July 31, the situation had somewhat improved, but residents continued to report queues and the sale of only 20-30 liters of fuel to one driver.

After the authorities' report on gasoline supplies, drivers reported a new deterioration of the situation. According to them, cars lined up at gas stations in several rows, including occupying the oncoming lane, and waiting for refueling took several hours. Later, residents doubted the effectiveness of the supplies reported by the authorities, as queues and the restriction on fuel sales to 20 liters remained.
