On August 6, the press service of the legislative body announced that Alexey Popolitov, the son of Dmitry Popolitov, a deputy of the Volgograd Regional Duma, was killed in the military operation on its page on "VKontakte".
Popolitov was 24 years old. He was awarded the Zhukov Medal. No other details about the biography and death of the fighter were provided in the announcement.
