A Circassian repatriate in Nalchik reported threats from security forces after his son was kidnapped.

The resident of Nalchik, Khalid Karaf, his wife, and daughter were summoned to the FSB after the man tried to find out the fate of his missing son. Khalid was threatened that both his son and he would be "sent to the SVO as stormtroopers," and later it was reported that his son was dead.

The resident of Nalchik, Khalid Karaf (Kerefo), who came to Russia as a repatriate from Syria, tried to find out the fate of his 30-year-old son Nurdin (Najmuddin), who had not been in contact with his relatives for about six months.

"He lived in Moscow, was with me six months ago, then left. And all this time I thought he was in Moscow, while the relatives in Moscow thought he was in Kabardino-Balkaria. Then I got a call from Moscow: 'When is he coming?' And I asked, 'Isn't he with you?' That's how I found out he was missing," Khalid explained to a correspondent from the "Caucasian Knot."

The man began searching for his son by contacting various authorities, after which he received an unexpected phone call. An unknown person, speaking in Circassian, threatened him that his son would be "sent to the SVO as stormtroopers." "He said that if I didn't remain silent, they would send me there too," noted Khalid Karaf.

It turned out to be impossible to find out where the call came from; Khalid's phone did not display the number. "When I tried to inquire with the mobile service provider, they told me that no one had called me. So it's unclear who to complain to," he said.

In the father's opinion, the reason for Nurdin's detention could be his own posts and comments on social media. "I wrote and am writing the truth," emphasized Karaf.

Late in the evening on August 5, one of the activists from the Circassian organization, speaking on condition of anonymity, informed a correspondent from the "Caucasian Knot" that Khalid Karaf, his wife, and daughter were summoned to the FSB. There, the family members were told that Nurdin Karaf was dead.

"As far as I know, they will now try to make Khalid record a denial of his statements about his son's disappearance. He himself is trying to get his son's body back," emphasized the activist.
