Research of seawater, conducted at the request of volunteers, showed a high level of pollution with petroleum products in the water near the shore at the central beaches of Tuapse.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", social media users and ecologists periodically report oil spills in the Black Sea. For instance, on May 17, social media users reported an oil product spill on the beach near Tuapse.

Volunteers from the "Gizel Dere" headquarters published the results of water sample studies from the Tuapse beaches in a Telegram chat.

Samples were taken on May 17 at seven points, from Shepsi to Primorsky beach. The studies were conducted in the "Natural Technologies" laboratory from July 22 to August 5. Thus, in Shepsi, Gizel-Dere, and Agoi, the cleanest water according to the study results had a low level of pollution with petroleum products: from 0.027 mg per cubic decimeter in Shepsi to 0.06 in Agoi.

In the Tyumensky settlement, this figure was 0.098 milligrams, at the "Spring" beach — 0.122. The most polluted water at the time of the study was at the central beach of Tuapse (0.165) and at Primorsky beach (0.430 mg per cubic decimeter).

"Yes, two months have passed, but this information is still important and necessary," commented the headquarters on the sample data.
