Rospotrebnadzor has suspended the sale of drinks from Armenia
The operator of the state marking system "Honest Sign" at the request of Rospotrebnadzor has blocked the sale of more than 70 thousand bottles of drinking water and carbonated drinks from Armenia. The agency's decision is motivated by violations of mandatory product requirements.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", Armenia has banned the import of tomato paste against the backdrop of export restrictions from Russia. In particular, the import of tomato paste is restricted from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Rosselkhoznadzor has been gradually introducing restrictions on the import of Armenian products since May 22: flowers, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, greens, and strawberries. In addition, the import of all batches of Armenian mineral water "Jermuk" and several brandies and wines, fish, has been halted. Since June, the ban has been extended to fresh grapes and stone fruits, including cherries and sweet cherries, as well as potatoes, eggplants, pome fruits, and dried fruits. On July 24, the agency announced a new ban - on the import of dairy products from Armenia.
The restrictions affected the mineral drinking therapeutic-table water "BJNI" (BJNI), produced at the "RRR" mineral water plant, as well as natural drinking water "Just Alphabet", including children's, from the Armenian company "WATERLOCK" and non-alcoholic Mojito of the DARBAS brand (LLC "Arsen and Nerses"), the TASS news agency reported, citing the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT, the operator of the "Honest Sign" system).
"At the request of Rospotrebnadzor, to "prevent possible harm to the life and health of Russian citizens", the CRPT - operator of the state marking system "Honest Sign" - has suspended the sale of more than 70 thousand bottles of drinking water and carbonated drinks. The reason was the identified violations by manufacturers of mandatory product requirements," the message states.
It is emphasized that the blocking applies to batches produced by companies on certain dates and does not affect other products.
"Currently, the sale of the batches specified by Rospotrebnadzor is prohibited in retail and online channels until all necessary checks are completed. The marking system is integrated with every cash register in the country, which allows for an instant consumer protection mechanism," said CRPT Deputy General Director Revaz Yusupov.
Yusupov added that since the beginning of 2026, the "Honest Sign" system has prevented the sale of 48 million bottles of drinking water with violations of expiration dates and mandatory requirements.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the bans on the import of Armenian products into Russia contradict the agreements of the two countries, Nikol Pashinyan reminded in a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin. The latter, in turn, insisted on holding a referendum in Armenia on joining the EU.
