Ingush activists pointed out to Kalimatov the threat of collapse of the medieval towers.
A group of women from Ingushetia recorded a video appeal to the head of the republic, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, demanding to save the medieval complex "Towers of Two Rivals" in the Dzheirakh district, which is threatened with collapse due to the crumbling rock on which it was built.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 17, 2024, residents of Ingushetia pointed out the emergency condition of the "Towers of Two Rivals" complex (also referred to as "Towers of Two Wives") in the Dzheirakh district, which is a cultural heritage site. They noted that the complex is threatened with collapse due to cracks in the walls. Urgent reconstruction is necessary, but the authorities cite a lack of funds, the residents of the republic stated.
The medieval castle "Towers of Two Rivals" is located in the Dzheirakh district on a narrow ridge of the Rocky Range between the Ozdi-choch and Akh-choch gorges. The fortification consisted of two combat towers connected by a stone defensive wall into a single castle complex, as reported on the website of the Ingushetia Tourism Committee.

They addressed their appeal to the head of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, the chairman of the People's Assembly of the republic, Magomet Tumgoev, and State Duma deputies Muslim Tatriyev and Bekhan Barakhoev, as reported on August 1 by the Telegram channel "Fortanga".
The authors of the appeal explained that the rock on which the towers are built is crumbling. The corner at the base of one of the towers is completely destroyed, and the other has lost its support and is practically hanging in the air. Cracks have formed along its entire height.
According to the activists, the destruction began several years ago, and its scale is rapidly increasing. "Failure to take urgent measures threatens the complete destruction of the monument. Emergency restoration work must begin immediately," one of the activists said in the video.
The authors of the appeal asked officials to officially contact the founder of the charitable foundation "SAFMAR", Mikhail Gutseriev, and suggest that he take personal control of the restoration of the complex. Gutseriev has been financing the restoration program for the tower complexes of Ingushetia for several years.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Ingushetia have repeatedly raised the issue of reconstructing the medieval towers. In particular, on July 17, 2023, members of the Council of Teips of Ingushetia called on the authorities of the republic to take measures to preserve the Magote tower complex.
