Residents of Dagestan pointed out to the authorities the unresolved issue of high gas prices.

Gas prices in Dagestan remain high, but instead of measures to reduce them, officials announced inspections of previously closed gas stations to resume their operations, local residents stated on social media.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 27, residents of Dagestan complained on social media about high fuel prices. They demanded that the authorities and antimonopoly officials stop the rise in fuel prices at gas stations and check the owners of gas stations for possible collusion.

Starting in August, authorities will begin inspections of closed gas stations in Makhachkala to resume their operations. An inventory will be conducted jointly with the Union of Entrepreneurs of Dagestan. Owners are already addressing violations related to fire safety and the placement of facilities. Only gas stations that fully comply with regulations will be allowed to operate again, reported RGVK "Dagestan".

Users pointed out that the resumption of operations of closed gas stations alone will not solve the problem of expensive gas, and again demanded that the authorities work to reduce prices.

Some users linked the plans to open gas stations with the already occurred price increase and doubted that fuel would become cheaper.

At the same time, the mass transition to gas will not help overcome the fuel crisis due to the lack of necessary infrastructure, analysts noted.

It is impossible to create such infrastructure quickly, said the deputy director general of the National Energy Institute Alexander Frolov. According to him, the current situation has prompted attention to already existing programs that are developing significantly slower than planned.

The mass transition to gas will not become a long-term trend, believes the leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov. After the problem with gasoline is resolved and queues at gas stations disappear, the demand for gas equipment installation will decrease, he explained.
