Two soldiers from the Astrakhan region were killed in Ukraine.

Yuri Trofimov and Aleksandr Sopov from the Kamyzyak District were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 754 soldiers from the Astrakhan Region have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by July 24, at least 752 soldiers from the Astrakhan Region had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The Kamyzyak District administration reported on its VKontakte page that the Orders of Courage were presented to the families of Yuri Trofimov and Aleksandr Sopov, who were killed in the military operation zone.

Yuri Trofimov graduated from the Astrakhan State College of Professional Technologies, completed his military service in the Russian Army, and worked at the Volga-Caspian Ship Repair Yard. He signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense on May 5, 2025. He was killed on December 18, 2025.

Alexander Sopov graduated from the Kamyshin Vocational School with a degree in electrical engineering and worked in the city administration and forestry department. In March 2025, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and served as deputy combat vehicle commander and gunner-operator in a motorized rifle company. He was killed on July 30, 2025.

Thus, at least 754 soldiers from the Astrakhan Region have been officially recognized as killed. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Growing for Southern Russia".

Earlier, authorities in the Kamyzyak District reported that Khairatu Zhangaliev was killed in the military operation.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits", which describes the stories of the slain soldiers.
