A resident of Stavropol has been convicted in a case about army fakes after carousel arrests.

Resident of Stavropol Krai Sergey Dubkov was arrested three times for petty hooliganism protocols, after which he was charged with spreading fakes about the army on Telegram. The court sentenced Dubkov to six years in prison.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on spreading fakes about the army was introduced on March 4, 2022, after the start of the Russian operation in Ukraine. This article of the Criminal Code contradicts the Constitution of Russia, as well as basic principles of law, human rights activists stated.

A resident of Stavropol Krai was sentenced to 6 years in prison for military "fakes" due to comments in Telegram, reports "Mediazona" (listed in the foreign agents registry) today.

The Investigative Committee reported the detention of 30-year-old Sergey Dubkov at the end of March. At that time, law enforcement officials stated that a case against the resident of the Predgorny district was initiated due to comments published in February 2025 "in one of the messengers." In court, it was later indicated that he was charged with comments in a Telegram chat.

Before his detention in the criminal case, Dubkov underwent "carousel arrests": he was sent to administrative detention at least three times since December 11, 2025.

Initially, Dubkov was sentenced to seven days of arrest for petty hooliganism. The ruling of the Pyatigorsk City Court states that police detained him on December 10 near the train station in Pyatigorsk because the man was swearing and did not respond to remarks. On December 18 — the day after the end of the first arrest — the court in Mineralnye Vody sentenced Dubkov to 10 days for a similar protocol. In February 2026, he was given another 10 days for the same case, and on March 6, the court sent the man to a pre-trial detention center — for the criminal case about "fakes."
