A soldier from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine
Ramazan Davudov from the Kurakh district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 2051 combatants from Dagestan killed there.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 28, officials and security forces officially named the names of at least 2050 killed soldiers from Dagestan in Ukraine.
The name of another killed fighter from Dagestan in Ukraine was announced by the administration of the Kurakh district, reporting on the transfer of a posthumous award to his family.
The killed Ramazan Davudov was a native of the village of Arablyar and was posthumously awarded the medal “For Courage.” The head of the district handed the medal to the wife and son of the deceased, the official Telegram channel of the municipality reported. The age and details of the military's biography were not provided in the officials' publication.
Thus, at least 2051 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
In early June, the administration of the Kurakh district informed that Tagir Navruzbegov from the village of Bugdatepe and Private Shalbus Magomedov from the village of Ashar were killed in the combat zone in Ukraine. Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially announced by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among representatives of the authorities to declare that a Russian military was killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of killed fighters. In particular, the widow of one of the killed reported that without the body, the battalion did not make payments related to the death of the serviceman.
