According to the investigation, on July 20, a 58-year-old teacher at a private kindergarten in the rural settlement of Kantyshevo hit an eight-year-old student several times. The child with Down syndrome, due to his age and developmental features, was in a helpless state; he hit his head on the table, reports Interfax on July 28.
A criminal case has been initiated against the teacher under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of duties for raising a minor, associated with cruel treatment).
A video of the incident was published on social media. In the footage, a woman is reading with the children, one of the children cannot repeat the syllable "ne", for which she hits him on the head. The other children react to what happened as if it is a normal occurrence, informs "Sapa".
