A batch of freshly cut roses from Armenia was attempted to be imported through Belarus under the guise of beverages; all of them were seized and destroyed due to violations of the rules for importing quarantine products into Russia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on the import of flowers from Armenia starting May 22, 2026, and from May 30, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, greens, and strawberries. In addition, the import of all batches of Armenian mineral water "Jermuk" and several cognacs and wines, as well as fish, was halted. From June 2, the Rosselkhoznadzor extended the ban to fresh grapes and stone fruits, including cherries and sweet cherries, and from June 3 - to potatoes, eggplants, as well as fruits of seed crops and dried fruits. Under the guise of Iranian products, cut flowers from Armenia were imported into Russia, the Rosselkhoznadzor stated on July 17, asking the Iranian Plant Protection Organization to suspend the certification of flowers for export to Russia. The agency also found violations at dairy plants in Armenia, instructing to ensure control over the prevention of dairy product imports starting July 27.

The Rosselkhoznadzor destroyed a batch of fresh roses from Armenia that were transported through Belarus under the guise of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, reported RIA "Novosti" on July 27.

The agency reported that a large batch of freshly cut roses from Armenia was destroyed in the Smolensk region "due to gross violations of the rules for importing quarantine products into Russia." It was noted that the vehicle transporting the roses under the guise of beverages was driven by a citizen of Belarus.

A total of 39,200 flowers were seized, and the remaining fragments of the labeling indicated their Armenian origin.

Recall that Russia imposed import restrictions from Armenia before the parliamentary elections held on June 7, in which pro-Russian forces also participated. The party "Civil Contract", led by the current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, won the elections to the country's parliament. Commenting on its victory, Pashinyan stated that the three-headed party of war was defeated (referring to the "Strong Armenia" bloc, the "Armenia" bloc, and the "Prosperous Armenia" party).
