Participants in the actions in three European countries opposed the expulsion of a native of Chechnya to Russia.

Activists of the Chechen diaspora held pickets in the capitals of Austria, the Czech Republic, and Finland near the German embassies in support of the Chechen refugee Muslim Alhazov, who faces deportation from Germany to Russia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the authorities of European countries periodically expel refugees from the North Caucasus who seek asylum to Russia. On March 23, it became known that a native of Chechnya, who sought protection in Estonia, did not receive proper legal assistance and was deported to Russia.

In Helsinki (Finland), Prague (Czech Republic), and Vienna (Austria), as well as in other European cities, activists of the Vainakh diasporas held pickets in support of the Chechen refugee Muslim Alhazov, who faces deportation from Germany to Russia, human rights activist Roza Dunaeva reported last night.

Participants in the actions called on the German authorities not to expel Alhazov to Russia, as his family has been subjected to persecution, abductions, and torture for years. "Muslim Alhazov's family is among those who have suffered greatly from the authorities' persecution," Dunaeva noted on her Facebook page*.

Activists demanded that the German authorities comply with international human rights obligations.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on June 24, it became known that a native of Chechnya was deported from Lithuania after the authorities of the country denied him an extension of refugee status, despite the fact that he had legally lived there for more than 20 years.
