The court in Nalchik sentenced serviceman Mulid Aliyev to eight years in prison, finding him guilty of attempting to illegally traffic drugs.

According to the case materials, serviceman Mulid Aliyev bought a large quantity of drugs online in January of this year and retrieved it from a stash in Pyatigorsk.

When Aliyev was traveling as a passenger in a car from Pyatigorsk to Baksan, the police seized the drugs from him. The investigation believes that the serviceman bought the substance to sell it later.

Mulid Aliyev admitted his guilt. The Nalchik garrison military court found him guilty of attempting to illegally traffic drugs and sentenced him to eight years in a strict regime colony, the court's press service reported on its social media page on "VKontakte."

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that courts in the southern regions of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have repeatedly issued lenient sentences to servicemen, considering their participation in the special military operation (SMO) as a mitigating circumstance. Thus, earlier, a court in Nalchik sentenced serviceman Ramazan Ganiev to one year and three months in prison, finding him guilty of illegal drug trafficking.

On August 26, 2024, it became known that the court in Nalchik sentenced contract serviceman Arsen Zakoroev to one year in prison, finding him guilty of assaulting a police officer.
