A border guard from Kabardino-Balkaria was killed in the Bryansk region

Alim Kazanov from the Baksan district was killed at the border in the Bryansk region. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged that at least 445 military personnel from Kabardino-Balkaria have been killed in combat.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 21, authorities and security forces officially named at least 444 servicemen from Kabardino-Balkaria killed in battles in Ukraine.

Officials in the Baksan district presented a posthumous award to the wife of the serviceman of the FSB Border Guard Service of Russia, Alim Kazanov, who was killed at the border with Ukraine.

Alim Kazanov was killed on January 15, 2026, as a result of an airstrike and was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. He left behind two young children, the administration of the Baksan district reported on its Telegram channel.

Thus, at least 445 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 432 of them, and the deaths of another 13 became known from the report of the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.

In early May, the administration of the Baksan district named the names of five killed servicemen. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
