A sergeant from Kabardino-Balkaria was killed in Ukraine

Kazbek Tauchev from the Tersky district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 444 combatants from Kabardino-Balkaria killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 21, authorities and security forces officially named at least 443 servicemen from Kabardino-Balkaria killed in battles in Ukraine.

In the combat zone, sergeant Kazbek Tauchev, a graduate of the Kabardino-Balkarian Automobile College, was reported killed on July 22 by the administration of the Tersky district of the republic.

Tauchev went to the combat zone in Ukraine in 2024. He served as a driver in a motorized rifle battalion and was awarded combat medals for “Military Valor” and “For Combat Services,” according to a message from the municipality's Telegram channel.

Kazbek Tauchev was killed on December 22, 2025, near the settlement of Staronikolaevka; his vehicle was attacked by an FPV drone. At that time, Tauchev was 28 years old, as noted in a publication citing a letter from the military commander. Tauchev was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

Thus, at least 444 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation. "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 431 of them; the deaths of another 13 became known from the report of the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.

At the end of May, the administration of the Tersky district reported that 26-year-old lieutenant Islam Kandrokov was killed in Ukraine. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
