The names of 12 fighters from the Rostov region killed in Ukraine have been announced.

Nikolai Konykov, Marat Karanaev, and ten of their fellow countrymen from Novoshakhtinsk were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, officials have acknowledged at least 955 Don military personnel killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 19, authorities and security forces officially recognized at least 943 fighters from the Rostov region killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

The names of 12 military personnel from the Rostov region killed in battles in Ukraine were announced by the administration of Novoshakhtinsk, reporting on the presentation of posthumous awards to their relatives.

Posthumously awarded the Order of Courage were eleven fighters: Nikolai Konykov, Sergey Korolev, Alexey Radaev, Nikolai Sevryukov, Marat Karanaev, Konstantin Goncharov, Yuri Rozov, Ivan Almashey, Igor Kuznetsov, Vladimir Kundryutskov, and Igor Cherevatyanko. Another serviceman, Alexander Gordeev, was posthumously awarded the Order of St. George, IV class - a distinction of the Order of St. George, the official Telegram channel of the municipality reported.

The age and biographical details of the killed were not provided in the officials' message.

Thus, at least 955 combatants from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses for southern Russia are increasing".

In early July, the Novoshakhtinsk administration informed about the awarding of those killed in Ukraine, Igor Butikov and Alexander Shamin.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, according to the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters.
