Two servicemen from Dagestan were killed in Ukraine
Khalid Kurbanov and Ayubkhan Gamzaev from the Suleiman-Stalsky district were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 2043 servicemen from Dagestan killed there.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 20, officials publicly named the names of at least 2041 killed fighters from Dagestan in Ukraine.
The names of two more servicemen from Dagestan, killed in Ukraine, were made public by the administration of the Suleiman-Stalsky district. The head of the municipality reported on the presentation of posthumous awards to their relatives.
The deceased are Khalid Kurbanov from the village of Tsmur and Ayubkhan Gamzaev from the village of Karchag. Both were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. The awards were handed over to their parents, according to a message from the official Telegram channel of the district administration.
The age and biographical details of the killed servicemen are not provided in the officials' message.
Thus, at least 2043 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
In June, the administration of the Suleiman-Stalsky district reported that Teymur Musaev, Sefikhan Kasumov, and German Alibekov were killed in Ukraine. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among representatives of the authorities to state that a Russian serviceman was killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
