The court refused to recognize the contracts for the disposal of sand contaminated with fuel oil in Anapa as fictitious.

The company that owns one of the tankers that sank in the Kerch Strait tried to prove in court the fictitious nature of the contracts for the disposal of sand contaminated with oil products, concluded between the authorities of Anapa and the company "Biopotential".

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", 89 beaches in Anapa have already been opened, and another 12 are undergoing examination. The sand used to cover the beaches has compacted and is not suitable for recreation, social media users pointed out. Other commentators expressed hope that the imported sand would gradually be washed away by the sea.

The Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory denied JSC "Volgatransneft" - the owner of one of the tankers that sank in the Kerch Strait in December 2024 - in its claim to invalidate five municipal contracts concluded by the administration of Anapa with the company "Biopotential", reported "Utrennyy Yug" on July 20.

The contracts, totaling 270 million rubles, were concluded for the work on neutralizing and disposing of sand contaminated with oil products. The plaintiff believes that the contractor did not have the necessary capacity to process more than 16.6 million tons of contaminated sand, and the transactions were fictitious.

The court denied "Volgatransneft"'s request for additional documents and to involve an insurance company as a third party. Furthermore, the court concluded that the contracts were fully executed, as confirmed by the signed acceptance acts and other documents that were completed without remarks.

Additionally, the court found that the plaintiff did not provide evidence of abuse of rights, violation of public interests, or non-compliance with legislation when concluding the agreement; therefore, there are no grounds for recognizing the contracts as invalid.

On December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. As a result, a crew member of one of the tankers died.
