The Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv was again damaged as a result of an airstrike.

As a result of airstrikes on Kyiv on the night of July 19, the building of the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine was damaged.

As reported by “Caucasian Knot”, on July 6, 2026, the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the strike on the SOCAR gas station in Mykolaiv region, Azerbaijani diplomats handed him a note of protest. The ministry emphasized that the attack is not an isolated incident - SOCAR facilities have repeatedly been subjected to strikes, leading to destruction and injuries to staff.

As a result of airstrikes on Kyiv on the night of July 19, damage was inflicted on the administrative building of the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine, reported on July 19 by the Azerbaijani state news agency AZERTAC.

A missile fell 200–250 meters from the embassy building — near the Lukyanivska metro station. The shockwave shattered windows in the embassy building and caused cracks in the ceiling.

There were no casualties among embassy staff, further noted in the AZERTAC report, which reminds that “the administrative building of the Azerbaijani embassy has already been damaged several times as a result of air attacks on Kyiv.”

The agency accompanied the news with photos and video materials.

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the strike on Kyiv in its Telegram channel, stating that the Kyiv aggregate and detail enterprise of the radio-electronic industry (LLC “Radionix”), which produces control systems for missiles, the Kyiv enterprise of the rocket and space industry (LLC “Spetsoboronmash”/GAHK “Artem”), which produces components for missile control systems; the production enterprise Kyiv-90 (LLC “Meridian” named after S.P. Korolev), which produces housing elements, as well as components for guidance systems and various units of guided missiles “Neptune-MD”; LLC “Oakline” Kyiv, which produces components for UAVs, the Kyiv sorting center (“Kyiv Innovation Terminal “Nova Poshta”), which provides delivery and storage of dual-use products, including for the production of UAVs, robotic complexes, and electronic warfare means.

Recall that in November 2025, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed a note of protest after a missile fell on the territory of the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv and the honorary consulate in Kharkiv. Part of the wall was destroyed, structures were damaged, official transport and the consular department were affected. The coordinates of the diplomatic facilities were provided to Moscow back in April 2022.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded by stating that, most likely, the cause was the incorrect operation of the Ukrainian air defense system, presumably the fall of a missile from the Patriot system. “When planning strikes, careful control of combat application data is carried out to exclude damage to the civilian population, the locations of diplomatic missions of foreign states are taken into account,” the ministry stated.
