The number of people poisoned at the recreation base in Stavropol has doubled.
80 people with symptoms of poisoning sought medical help while resting at a base in the Novoselitsky district.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in the Novoselitsky district of the Stavropol region, 40 people sought medical help with complaints of poisoning symptoms. Employees of the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office reported on inspections.
80 people who were resting at the base in the Novoselitsky district sought help from medical institutions in the Stavropol region and neighboring republics. 21 of them are minors, and six people have been hospitalized. There are no minors among the hospitalized, the Investigative Committee of Russia for Stavropol reported today.
Investigators have opened a criminal case regarding the mass illness of visitors to the Volchye Vorota hotel complex near the village of Novoselitsky. This concerns violations of sanitary and epidemiological rules that led to the mass poisoning of people.
Employees of the Investigative Committee and Rospotrebnadzor inspected the kitchen of the hotel complex and seized samples. "Preliminarily, the cause of the mass illness was identified as a salmonella pathogen found in food products that underwent culinary processing at the recreation base," the message said.
