The Supreme Qualification Collegium of Judges allowed investigators to initiate a criminal case against judge Sergey Bogdanovich of the Lazarevsky District Court of Sochi.

Judge Sergey Bogdanovich of the Lazarevsky District Court of Sochi is suspected of receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount.

According to the investigation, in July of last year, Bogdanovich received half of the bribe (25 million rubles out of 50 million) from the defendant Safarbiya Napso through intermediaries at a gas station in Sochi. The reward was intended for considering Napso's case in a special manner and imposing a sentence not related to actual imprisonment, TASS reported on July 17.

The case involves three intermediaries, and a criminal case against two of them is already being considered in court; they are accused of mediating in bribery. The case of the third has been separated into a separate proceeding.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in early July, the case of former Sochi judge Valery Sluka, who is accused of exceeding his authority and issuing unlawful decisions, reached the court. The investigation is also investigating an episode related to the alleged receipt of a large bribe by Sluka from Safarbiya Napso for similar services.

Last year, Safarbiya Napso was sentenced to four years of imprisonment after being found guilty of embezzling property from the DRSU. Already this year, his accomplices have been sentenced to terms ranging from two to six and a half years in prison.
