Tourists arrived in Anapa against the backdrop of the ongoing replenishment of the beaches.

Authorities reported 830 thousand tourists visited Anapa, the replenishment of the beaches with new sand continues. Bloggers confirmed that there are many vacationers on the beaches. Activists expressed outrage at the condition of the sand on the beach in Vityazevo, where a new layer of sand is being laid.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", 84 beaches in Anapa are already open. The sand used to replenish the beaches has compacted and is not suitable for recreation, social media users pointed out. Other commentators expressed hope that the imported sand would gradually be washed away by the sea.

The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the condition of the coastline. Some beaches are open and deemed safe, while other areas are closed due to erosion, unstable ground, and environmental risks. A report from "Caucasian Knot" details which beaches are ready for visitors and which pose dangers in "Beaches of Anapa: open and dangerous zones".

Authorities reported an increase in the number of tourists in Anapa

The mayor of Anapa, Svetlana Maslova, reported an increase in the number of tourists. "Since the beginning of the year, more than 830 thousand people have vacationed with us. About 1600 accommodation facilities are operating, with 126 thousand vacationers present at the resort at the same time. The average occupancy is 65%: sanatoriums are filled to 80%, children's health resorts to 50%," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Work is nearing completion on forming an unpolluted layer of sand on the sandy beaches, she writes. "Currently, the final section in the village of Vityazevo is in the final stage of replenishment. 84 beach areas have already been cleared from the danger zone, and this work continues," the mayor wrote.

People are huddled at the narrow water's edge, while the sand mixed with clay and stones presents a dismal sight.

Activists criticized the progress of work in Vityazevo

Work in Vityazevo to lay a new layer of sand on the beach is taking place amid many vacationers, writes the Telegram channel "Anapa Civil". "The beach of the resort village of Vityazevo. Sand is being brought in, leveled, piles of construction sand, trucks, people are huddled at the narrow water's edge, while the sand mixed with clay and stones presents a dismal sight. The 'successful' season is in full swing. After all, it doesn't matter what it's like, the main thing is what officials will write in their beautiful reports," the activists pointed out.

In the video attached to the publication, several clay "boulders" the size of a fist and larger are seen next to the piles of sand.

Meanwhile, Anapa bloggers report that there are many people on the beaches.

"The beaches of Dzhemete are simply packed! Huge crowds around the guest passage!" writes Andrey Makovozov.

He published a video from Dzhemete, showing the situation on the beach — despite the huge number of vacationers, the water is clean, and there are no stones near the shore.

"The central beach of Anapa, the season is on, there are crowds of people!" reported Max Anapsky.
