In the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District of Kuban, oil product spills have been discovered about a kilometer away from the coast.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", oil product leakage has resumed from the sunken bow of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" in the Kerch Strait, as evidenced by satellite images taken in early July. The leakage may be related to the increase in water temperature and the work on pumping fuel oil from tankers. On July 14, authorities reported about fuel oil spills in the Temryuk District.
The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported on its Telegram channel on July 14 about oil product spills on the coastline in the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District.
According to the headquarters, the spills were discovered during monitoring of the coastal strip at a distance of about one kilometer. It is reported that cleanup is underway, involving 125 people and 20 units of equipment. "Volunteers are not involved in the work," the headquarters specifically informs.
Let us remind you that on December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. As a result, a crew member of one of the tankers died. In addition, there was a spill of oil products, which led to catastrophic environmental consequences, as stated in the report by "Caucasian Knot" "Fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait".
Materials on the consequences of the fuel oil spill have been collected by "Caucasian Knot" on the page "Ecological disaster in Kuban".
