The Nalchik resident is suspected of disrespecting the days of military glory.
Investigators in Nalchik have initiated a case against a local resident under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism, having found disrespect for the days of military glory of Russia in his publications.
The suspect is 41 years old, and the reason for his prosecution was materials from the republican FSB department. The man is accused of disseminating through the internet information expressing clear disrespect for society regarding the days of military glory associated with the defense of the Fatherland (part 4 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This article provides for up to five years of imprisonment or forced labor.
According to the investigation's version, the suspect was an administrator of a channel on one of the social networks. He published materials and comments with a clear negative attitude towards the celebration of the Day of Military Glory, reported the Investigative Committee's department for Kabardino-Balkaria on its Telegram channel.
The name and occupation of the suspect, the name of the social network, and the specific content of the publications are not disclosed in the agency's message. Investigators did not specify whether the suspect admitted his guilt during the interrogation. The measure of restraint chosen for the man is also not indicated.
"Caucasian Knot", in March the Investigative Committee reported on a criminal case against a resident of Dagestan accused of rehabilitating Nazism using the internet. The reason was publications that "distort historical information about the events of World War II," the investigation stated. In May, a case under the same article was initiated against another Dagestani, a resident of Kizlyar.
