Against the backdrop of the fuel crisis in Astrakhan, the demand for the installation of gas cylinder equipment has increased. As a result, there is a shortage of equipment and, consequently, its cost has risen.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in Astrakhan, queues at gas stations have not decreased after the introduction of gasoline sales on even and odd days depending on the car's number: drivers line up in advance even at non-working gas stations in hopes of buying fuel.

Amid the fuel shortage in Astrakhan, many drivers have decided to switch to gas, and as a result, the cost of installing the corresponding equipment has sharply increased, reports "Caspian Info".

In May of this year, the cheapest gas cylinder equipment cost 35 thousand rubles, while in mid-June it cost 40-45 thousand rubles. In July, the cheapest equipment with installation, as well as a large red cylinder that takes up half the trunk, already costs from 64 thousand rubles. There is a catastrophic shortage of small "tablet" cylinders that are installed in place of the spare wheel.

The publication also reports that the queues for the installation of gas equipment are quite large, and another price increase for the purchase of equipment is expected.

The correspondent of "Caucasian Knot" interviewed residents of Astrakhan on July 10, whose cars are already equipped with gas equipment. Andrey and Sergey stated that there are no problems with gas. Amandyn, who also noted that there are no issues with refueling the car with gas, emphasized that gas prices have risen from 26 to 38 rubles. The rise in gas prices for cars was also mentioned by Yuri and Alexey.

Queues for the installation of gas equipment have already formed.

Vladimir said that he thought about switching his car to gas but then abandoned the idea. "Firstly, there is currently a shortage of cylinders for refueling, and it is said that new ones will only be available in September. Secondly, queues for the installation of gas equipment have already formed," he explained.

Alexander, who is engaged in freight transportation, noted that he is considering switching his vehicles to gas. "But not everything can be converted this way. It is problematic to switch diesel vehicles to gas; gasoline ones are debatable," he remarked.

Moreover, the Astrakhan resident is dissatisfied with the long queues of those wishing to install gas equipment. "Free slots are already booked for two months ahead," he stated.

Currently, many centers installing gas equipment work until two or even three o'clock in the morning due to the influx of applicants.

Owners of gas installation services were more negatively inclined. At the technological center "Gas on Auto," it was noted that the shortage of gas cylinders for refueling cars in Astrakhan has become "critical" against the backdrop of a sharply increased demand. "Currently, many centers installing gas equipment work until two or even three o'clock in the morning due to the influx of applicants," a center employee told the correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

He noted the very high likelihood of the operation of "gray" makeshift centers for those wishing to install gas equipment without long queues. "The activities of such centers, which lack both experience and the equipment we have, can lead to an increase in engine failures due to improper installation of equipment, and to an increase in traffic accidents because of this. Moreover, such installers discredit the very idea of running a car on gas. If a person who had gas equipment poorly installed encounters a problem, they will first think that this problem is due to switching to gas, not because of those who installed it," he stated, emphasizing that there are no control measures for such centers.

An employee of another center, "Gas and Auto," told the correspondent of "Caucasian Knot" that they do not experience a shortage of equipment and also noted a significant increase in the number of those wishing to switch their cars from gasoline to gas.

At the same time, according to representatives of both centers, the price of gas in the city has already doubled.
