The FSB reported the prevention of a terrorist act using drones at the military airfield "Rostov-Central".
"The Federal Security Service in the Rostov region identified a Russian citizen whom the Ukrainian military intelligence planned to use to carry out a sabotage-terrorist act with the promise of a monetary reward after the explosion of the military airfield "Rostov-Central", the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the FSB reported on its website.
The goal of the terrorist act was to destroy infrastructure, eliminate personnel, and blow up the aviation fleet of the airfield. For this purpose, 13 FPV drones equipped with artificial intelligence systems were planned to be used. "The combat load of each UAV was over one kilogram of explosive substance in TNT equivalent," the PRC noted.
A man, after receiving an offer from a representative of the Ukrainian special services to participate in the attack, voluntarily contacted the security forces and reported the planned terrorist act.
The FSB reported that after the detection of the UAVs and their deactivation, as well as receiving an advance of 20% of the promised reward, communication with the foreign intelligence was interrupted.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 9, the FSB reported the arrest of two individuals suspected of preparing a terrorist act against a high-ranking Defense Ministry officer. One of the suspects was detained in the Krasnodar region, the other, a native of the Rostov region, was in Moscow.
