Eight residents of Kabardino-Balkaria are suspected of preparing attacks on security forces.

According to the investigation, members of a clandestine cell of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia, operating in the Baksan region, were preparing attacks in Kabardino-Balkaria on law enforcement buildings to seize weapons and then go underground.
Security forces detained eight members of the cell. During searches at their residences, 10 units of rifled and smoothbore weapons, 500 cartridges, 5 kilograms of gunpowder, 12 homemade incendiary devices and components for their manufacture, 18 knives, 3 Motorola radios, medications, equipment for living in mountainous and forested areas, and food supplies were found, the FSB reported today.
Criminal cases have been initiated for preparing a terrorist act, organizing the activities of a terrorist organization, and participating in the activities of such an organization. All detainees have been arrested, the report said.
"Caucasian Knot" reported that on May 29, security forces reported the detention in Novorossiysk of a man who assembled an explosive device and was preparing to blow up railway tracks. According to the special services, he acted on the instructions of Ukrainian curators.
