On April 29, Kadyrov met with Putin in Moscow and secured his support, once again calling himself his "infantryman." During this meeting, Putin expressed hope that "the residents of Chechnya will again support" Kadyrov in the elections scheduled for September 20.

The decision was made unanimously, reported the chairman of the Chechen government, the secretary of the regional branch of the party, Magomed Daudov, notes "Kommersant."

Kadyrov himself promised not to change the course of the region's development. "If you ask me, I would choose another candidate because this is a big responsibility, I know how difficult this task is.. I am forced, one might say, to run for elections. I am confident that the people will support. If the people support, then I am ready to serve the people," Kadyrov told journalists following the conference of the regional party "United Russia."

He also stated that the authorities of the republic do not plan to change the course of development and intend to continue the work already being done. "I do not promise anything new for the people that we will do. We will do what we have done, what we know how to do. It will be seen how the situation in the republic develops," quotes the words of the head of Chechnya, RIA "Novosti."

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in the upcoming elections to the State Duma, the Chechen list of "United Russia" will be headed for the first time since 2007 not by Ramzan Kadyrov, but by the current deputies from the region.
