Residents of Leninkent complained about the unsatisfactory condition of the roads.
One of the residents of the Makhachkala village of Leninkent filmed the critical condition of the roadway, which becomes impassable after rainfall. Other local residents, commenting on his video on social media, complained that due to the poor roads, minibuses do not travel through the village streets, pedestrians walk through water, and appeals to officials yield no results.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", residents of Dagestan often complain about problems with landscaping and infrastructure, and, not waiting for a response from the authorities to their appeals, they often solve these problems on their own. For example, on March 2, 2025, in the village of Erpeli in the Buynaksk district, residents replaced an electric transformer at their own expense due to regular problems with electricity supply. They complained that officials and energy workers left their appeals unanswered.
On August 27, 2024, residents of the Rutul district complained about a water supply problem. They reported that they independently laid water pipes in some settlements. On March 4, 2024, residents of Makhachkala filled potholes on the roadway with soil on their own. Earlier, on January 4, 2024, residents of one of the mountainous areas of Dagestan repaired the Agvali – Gadiri – Gigatli – Gachitli road at their own expense.
One of the residents of Leninkent in Makhachkala filmed the poor condition of his streets. This video was published on June 29 on the Instagram*-page tut_mahachkala.
The video starts with footage showing a broken road with puddles, along which cars pass. "This is the road in the village of Leninkent. A little rain – and this is what happens," said the author of the video.
He then turned the lens to the roadside, where another local resident was walking. The author of the video asked him to comment on the state of the road. "So far, there is no attention to it. They say there will be asphalt... The mayor came here," said the local resident, whom the video author called Yusup Magomedovich.
The camera's lens shifted back to the broken road with puddles, along which a car slowly passed. "This is the situation. The weather was, the water has gone, but during the rains, there is a disaster here," noted the author of the video.
"Here rivers flow, here," said Yusup Magomedovich.
This video on the Instagram*-page tut_mahachkala, which has about 328 thousand followers, had gained 456 likes and 56 comments by 11:50 Moscow time on July 5.
Commenters urged officials to solve the problem of the poor road.
"We demand the administration's attention to this street," noted muhammad_rs5.
"When it rains, it is impossible to walk there, the water is up to the knees. It's just terrible! Can't this road be fixed?" asked patimat51452.
"Take care of this road! Since I moved to Leninkent, I have left all my car's suspension on these damaged roads, not to mention the wheels. I don't even want to go out of the house anymore," complained g_cihinova.
"It's probably time to fix these roads so that minibuses can also travel further. People have to walk a long way with bags," pointed out user family.asiya.
Some users noted that local residents had already appealed to officials, but the problem remained unresolved.
"There is no point; they have appealed everywhere," wrote user keaiom.
"Children walk from there to school. I sent all the data to the Ministry of Ecology; inspections were conducted. Photos and videos were also recorded regarding the garbage and unpleasant smell. And that's it – silence followed," said diana_di19884.
Other commenters, also identifying themselves as residents of Leninkent, complained that the problem of broken roads is very acute.
"And you wouldn't say that this is a minute from the city center. Even in villages, there are no such broken roads as in Leninkent," wrote n.madin_77.
"Yes, I agree too. The quality of the roads leaves much to be desired. Huge puddles form during the rains; children can't ride their bikes or scooters properly. How can you walk with strollers on such roads? Budayeva Street also needs asphalting," noted l_gabibova.
"There are hundreds of such streets in Leninkent, and it will be like this for a thousand years," stated user sakinat329.
As of 11:50 Moscow time on July 5, there were no comments on the Makhachkala administration's website regarding the complaints of Leninkent residents about the broken streets.
