The Rostov Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 12 years in prison, finding him guilty of treason for transferring money to Ukrainian soldiers.

On July 3, the Rostov Regional Court issued a verdict against a local resident, finding him guilty of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the court's press service, the man registered on a blocked internet resource in Russia, which was administered by a blogger included in the list of individuals involved in extremist and terrorist activities, writes "Kommersant".

The resident of Donetsk transferred funds to the blogger's accounts, which were subsequently sent for the needs of Ukrainian servicemen.

The court sentenced the man to 12 years in a strict regime colony, a fine of 200,000 rubles, and two years of restriction of freedom after serving the main sentence.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that at the end of May, the Southern District Military Court sentenced a resident of Rostov-on-Don, Andrey Shilyaev, to 21 years in prison, finding him guilty of treason. According to the investigation and the court, he took and hid explosive devices handed over by a representative of a banned extremist Ukrainian organization.
